Welcome to the new softfreaks website, previously this site was dedicated to video chat software scripts. Because I suck at selling stuff and I am great at webmaster stuff I decided to turn this site into a webmaster and SEO tutorial site. I am not saying that I am "the best" but I think that I am good at what I do..

How I started

Back in 2002 I was first introduced to websites by a colleague, and since I had some free time at work I build a website that was dedicated to our family. The idea was to post photos, stories etc etc... While getting better at building and sculpting the site I noticed that other people were making money with their sites. I thought, hey I can do that too, and started to build a second site called "camchoice". Camchoice was a webcam directory with a separate section for adult webcams. This separate section was all about making money, I put some banners up from various adult video chat sites, and beginning 2003 I got my first paycheck for $50,- I was so happy...

Fifty dollars, man.. what if I did that times 1000 ? Thats a lot of cash ! I was hooked and my goal was to build a lot of sites, make money... After building more and more webcam related sites, I was able to afford my own video chat site and I bought a script from Tim Green at wwwebmasters, now called eyepartner. Together we build the "cams4us" video chat site, that site is still growing. All was good, last thing to do was say goodbye to my other boss, I could not work 18 hours a day and had to make a choice.

Times were good, money was coming in, I was my own boss and my network of adult sites was still growing. Sponsors were throwing money and gifts at me (Thanks!) and I was making money with my own cams4us sponsor program.

After a while I noticed that the traffic to our sites was dropping, and I wondered why.... After some research I noticed that the search engines like Google, Yahoo and others were letting me down. At that point I did not really do anything about search engine optimization. Time to get busy ! I started reading everything about search engines, crawlers, page-rank, linking, keywords .... After tweaking the sites here and there everything was fine again, better then ever !

Somewhat later I started my own video chat community called "Izicams" , where people can share their webcams and chat with each other. If you like to see how it works, check out our chat room , right here at softfreaks. it was supposed to be an adult video chat site like all the others, with a community. But since the users keep coming back for the community and not for the other chat rooms we are now changing it to community only...

Present day I am still promoting many different video chat sites with over 1000 free sites, and running 2 successful video chat sites.  I hope that with this blog I can contribute a little to your success on the net. Happy reading !
